Eating places

There is a good selection of restaurants at the local Plaza which is about about 5-10 minutes walk away.  English food is also available and there is an Irish pub! Walk on another 5 minutes and there are more restaurants to choose from.

You can always take a trip into Torrevieja which is the nearest town; about 5 minutes drive away. There you will find a wonderful selection of international restaurants including Mexican, Cantonese, Spanish and English.  There are also tasty pizza and chicken restaurants.

Shopping for Necessities

There is a good selection of shops including an English supermarket, chemist and bank with an ATM at the local Plaza within 5-10 minutes walk.   There are also various food stores in Torrevieja itself.

 

Beaches

There are several beautiful beaches to visit, many of which have been awarded the Blue Flag ensuring a clean and safe beach. The sand is white or golden and the sea warm and clear. On most beaches entertainment areas can be found for children along with volleyball areas, water slides, showers and refreshments. Sun loungers and parasols are available to hire for a small fee.

Salt Lakes

There are 2 large salt lakes at Torrevieja and La Mata. Bathing in these lakes is said to help medical conditions such as asthma, rheumatism, heart diseases and skin disorders. The climate here is said to be the second most healthiest in the world. The lakes are also classed as a bird reserve and nature park where you are able to see wild flamingos.

Torrevieja

Torrevieja is the nearest town to Los Dolses and in addition to the wonderful selection of eating places, there is a popular large weekly market held on a Friday.  The market is a good place to shop for souvenirs and gifts and where a bargain can be found. There is also a daily indoor market where you can purchase fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables.

Torrevieja also has an Aqua Park open throughout the summer and also a fun fair by the marina, again open throughout the summer months.

Other Activities

As previously mentioned there is an Aqua Park and Fun Fair at Torrevieja open during the summer months. Further activities to be found are horse riding, tennis, outdoor bowls, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing, swimming, go-karting and of course don’t forget golf, which can be played at any or all of the 3 championship courses. Plenty of choice for everybody or you can take it easy and visit beautiful countryside, relax on one of many beaches, or look at the boats at one of the pretty marinas at Campoamor, Cabo Roig or, probably the biggest marina in Spain, at Torrevieja.
